Our People
Brendan, a Partner and Head of the Dispute Resolution Department, supervises and guides the team to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the department.
Brendan specialises in resolving disputes, with expertise in corporate conflicts involving directors and shareholders, intellectual property issues, and traditional commercial claims such as breach of contract and professional negligence.
In addition to his litigation practice, Brendan has also working in the licensing field for approaching 20 years, helping many clients in the hospitality and event sector obtain and maintain the necessary licences they need to successfully operate.
Brendan typically advises clients on:
- Director and shareholder disputes
- Breach of contract claims
- Professional negligence claims
- Protecting Trademarks and creative assets
- Breach of covenants
- Rights of Way and Boundary Disputes
- Licensing
Brendan has a very approachable manner, and places great importance on client relationships. He enjoys tackling all matters directly, and always looks to provide clients with practical, and most importantly, cost-effective solutions.
Recent example of disputes which Brendan has advised on include:
- Implementing an adjudication on behalf of a commercial client to secure the swift recovery of in excess of £100,000 in damages;
- Working with the directors of a company to reverse the unlawful issue of several million shares, and to remove the defaulting directors from office and regain control of the company.
- Advising a business in relation to enforcing restrictive covenants against a former employee who had misappropriated company data and client information.
Outside the office
Outside of work Brendan runs a successful music festival in the Cotswolds. When he is not knee-deep in mud at a festival, he enjoys travelling (especially in Africa, where he worked as a safari camp manager for a year), exploring the seas off the Dorset coast as an avid scuba diver, and the occasional round of golf when time allows.
