Edwina is a Senior Associate Solicitor who specialises in commercial contracts, intellectual property, and charity law. She also advises on regulatory matters including data protection compliance. She has experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on a variety of agreements and has worked on secondment for a well-known multi-national retailer and a leading financial lender.

Edwina advises a range of businesses from startups to Government-funded bodies. She has experience in assisting various sectors from retail to manufacturing, finance, leisure and tourism and the aerospace sector.

Edwina advises clients on matters such as:

  • Drafting, reviewing and updating client’s commercial contracts to ensure that they meet their business needs and are compliant with relevant laws and regulations. This includes website terms and conditions and privacy policies, customer agreements and terms and conditions and the agreements that businesses enter into with their suppliers;
  • Drafting, reviewing and updating client’s IT contracts to ensure that they meet their business needs and are compliant with relevant laws and regulations. This includes app terms and conditions, software licences and assignments and IT service supply contracts.
  • Advising on how best to protect a business’ intellectual property and overseeing trade mark and design registrations;
  • Drafting, reviewing and updating client’s intellectual property contracts including licences, assignments and co-existence agreements;
  • Advising businesses on data protection matters including the drafting, reviewing and updating of privacy policies and data protection notices, guiding clients on data protection requirements and providing training courses for staff on data protection compliance; and
  • Advising charities with compliance for example preparing, reviewing and updating their governing documents, advising on charity restructures and mergers and assisting with the appointment or removal of trustees.

Edwina is known for her attention to detail and approachable nature. She enjoys getting to know a client’s business and understand their individual needs in order that she can provide tailored, practical advice.

Examples of matters that Edwina has worked on include:

  • drafting a framework agreement governing how a Government-created body received funding from its members and negotiating its terms with some of the biggest organisations in the aerospace sector globally;
  • amending a leading US retail supplier who have been featured on Ellen and the New York Times on its website terms of use and sale, and privacy policies, to ensure that they complied with UK consumer and contract law and UK and EU data protection legislation; and
  • working on secondment for a well-known national financial lender, working as part of their in-house legal team in the review and negotiation of key commercial contracts.

Outside the office

Edwina enjoys practising yoga, walking her energetic dog and spending quality time with her family and friends (especially her young daughter).
