Tiff is a solicitor who specialises in intellectual property matters. Tiff advises a range of businesses from individual inventors and startups through to prestigious national and international companies who are leaders in their field.
Working with businesses in a wide range of sectors, many of her clients are involved in retail, hospitality and manufacturing industry operating in the UK and internationally.
Tiff typically advises clients on:
- copyright, design and trade mark rights;
- intellectual property portfolio management;
- intellectual property searches in the UK and internationally;
- risk of unregistrable intellectual property and likelihood of registration;
- prosecuting and defending trade mark oppositions;
- trade mark and design applications in the UK and internationally;
- ownership and use of intellectual property within businesses and group companies;
- intellectual property documentation to include assignments and licences of intellectual property; and
- enforcing and defending intellectual property rights in contentious matters.
Tiff is known for her ability to provide focused intellectual property advice and protection, whilst keeping costs proportionate. Clients also appreciate the fact that she keeps them informed of progress on a regular basis.
Recent example of deals which Tiff has advised on include:
- advised a boat manufacturer defend a non-use cancellation action in China in relation to its core trade mark alongside a lawyer in China;
- assisted a restaurant chain with various intellectual property assignments and licences in light of its group restructure, including trade marks, database rights and domain names; and
- advising a well-known drinks brand throughout the process of registering its trade marks in Canada, China, EU and Switzerland.
Outside the office
Tiff is a keen runner, and often takes part in local 5k, 10k and half marathons for charities.
