Licensing for Late-Night Refreshment Services

Providing hot food and drinks to the general public between 11.00 p.m. and 5.00 a.m.? Your premises will need a licence.

This is for consumption on or off the premises and applies to all establishments, including takeaways, restaurants, mobile units and stalls, even for those that already have a licence for alcohol sales.

If your establishment serves hot food after 11 p.m., your premises licence must include late-night refreshment.

A Temporary Event Notice (TEN) can cover late-night refreshment. This allows you to serve items like burgers, sausages, or hot chestnuts at events such as public firework displays after 11 p.m.

We can help clients by:

  • Applying for new licences, including Temporary Events Notices
  • Extending existing provisions
  • Varying existing licences
  • Defending applications before the licensing committee or appeal hearings
  • Contesting enforcement actions

We have extensive experience and represent a wide range of clients, including:

  • Fast food takeaways
  • Pizza and other hot food delivery companies
  • Restaurants
  • Late-night cafes
  • Bars and pubs
  • Nightclubs

Our team are skilled negotiators, who work with the authorities to promote your interests and secure positive results. Trust us to keep your business compliant and successful, even after regular working hours.
