Recent examples of matters Rebecca has advised on include:
- Successfully put forward an application to the Court of Protection to authorise lifetime gifting, mitigating inheritance tax.
- Successfully demonstrated to HMRC that the Gift with Reservation of Benefit rules did not apply, resulting in a refund of over £100,000 in inheritance tax.
- Supported a client with advanced motor neurone disease to give Will instructions using eye‑movement communication technology, ensuring their wishes were captured accurately and overseeing the valid execution of the Will.
Outside of work, Rebecca spends time with her kittens and house rabbit, enjoys spin and Body Combat classes, and loves exploring new places with her partner, Mat, often joining him on motorcycle adventures.
