Rebecca is a Partner at Laceys and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives who specialises in Private Client law, to include Lifetime Estate Planning, such as Wills, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney and the Administration of Estates.

Rebecca Suthers typically advises clients on:

  • Advising and drafting on tax efficient Wills, often with a focus on protecting assets for future generations.
  • Preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney & General Powers of Attorney.
  • Lifetime Gifting;
  • Declarations of Trust;
  • The Administration of Estates;
  • Deeds of Variation;

Rebecca has a broad range of private client knowledge with 20 years of experience. She is known for being approachable and providing clear solutions to what can sometimes be a complex matter.

Recent example of deals which Rebecca has advised on include:

  • Drafting Wills for blended families, where the estate will be taxable but where the main focus for the couple was to achieve parity between their respective children;
  • Advising and drafting a Deed of Variation where the deceased was entitled to receive a share of another estate, to avoid an Inheritance Tax liability; and
  • Providing advice and assistance with creating a Trust to an individual who was embarking on a series of trusts to purchase commercial property for the eventual benefit of his children and reduce his own Inheritance Tax liability.

Outside the office

Rebecca spends much of her spare time gardening and cooking, as well as walking, sea swimming and reading.
