Update on Outdoor Events and Covid-19

If you are involved in the Outdoor Events industry, not only have the last few months been a uniquely challenging time, but you may also have become increasingly bewildered with trying to keep up with the onslaught of regulations that have been issued.

New government guidance out this week has stated that,

with the exceptions of large sporting events, outdoor events that are organised by businesses, charitable organisations, and public bodies are allowed to take place provided they have carried out a thorough risk assessment and taken all reasonable steps to mitigate the risk of viral transmission, taking into account that risk assessment, in line with COVID-19 Secure guidance.”

Philip Day, Laceys specialist Licensing solicitor, provides some valuable insight into this latest guidance alongside looking at licensing regulations from a legal perspective and what councils can and can’t enforce with regard outdoor events taking place.
