Mark leads a team that specialises in property and landlord and tenant disputes, possession and debt recovery in relation to both commercial and residential property. He also deals with commercial disputes, professional negligence and insolvency claims.

He has frequently given talks on the law as it affects managing agents through the Association of Residential Managing Agents and other groups.

Mark typically advises and represents clients on:

  • Forfeiture of leases and lease breaches
  • 1954 Act business lease renewals (opposed and unopposed)
  • Recovery of rent and service charge and associated disputes
  • Claims against guarantors and former tenants
  • Insolvency issues in relation to landlords and tenants
  • Negligence claims against solicitors or other professionals
  • Contract disputes and debt claims

Recent examples of cases on which Mark has advised and represented clients include:

  • Owners of a block of flats on process for withdrawal of communal heating
  • Sports club in dispute in relation to long-term right to park
  • Property owner on enforcement of covenants controlling use of neighbouring property
