Sharing the burden after a death

Dealing with an estate after a loved one has passed can be emotionally taxing and complex. At Laceys Solicitors, we understand the intricacies of probate and estate administration. Our goal is to provide peace of mind to our clients in this tough time by offering expert legal support and advice. Our experienced team helps simplify estate management, ensuring a smooth probate process.

Our probate services include:

Probate Advice and Support: Our team can act as, or help, executors or administrators (where there is no Will) navigate every step of the probate process. We are here to guide you through your duties, helping you avoid common pitfalls and protect the estate and yourself. We can handle everything from the initial paperwork to the final distribution, or alternatively deal with only certain aspects, such as obtaining the Grant of Probate (which may not always be required). We can do as much or as little as is required and fully appreciate that patience and sensitivity is essential.

Intestacy and Finding Beneficiaries: If someone dies with no Will, this is known as dying intestate. We can apply intestacy laws to distribute the estate correctly. We can also assist by recommending  experts who can locate missing beneficiaries to ensure everyone entitled receives their share.

Tax and Planning After Death: We have a wealth of experience in dealing with the taxation aspects of the administration of estates and will advise on all available reliefs and discuss post death planning (deeds of variation) which may be appropriate for both tax planning and practical purposes.

Foreign assets: Managing assets in different countries can be complicated. We can guide you when dealing with foreign assets.

Trust Administration: If there is a Trust in the Will, we can advise on the practical and taxation implications as well as assist with the constitution of the trust and its ongoing administration.
