“Without Prejudice Privilege”. Not to be used to shield inappropriate threats.
The purpose of without prejudice privilege is to encourage parties to communicate openly without fear that things said in mediation will be used against...
For many individuals a dispute works its way into every aspect of their life, causing no end of stress and worry. It can make both home and working life more difficult and in turn have an impact on personal relationships and health. We recognise the importance of helping people to find solutions to the problem quickly and at minimal cost and this is where the option of mediation can help.
Aside from being quicker and more cost effective, civil mediation is increasingly acknowledged as being a better way forward for people to resolve a dispute. Unlike litigation, which can be unpredictable, time consuming and costly, mediation can resolve a dispute with certainty, quickly and at a fraction of the cost.
Disputes can arise out of all sorts of relationships and situations. Cases suitable for mediation could involve boundary disputes, contested probate, faulty goods, a problem with a service provided by someone, a dispute with a local authority over care home fees, to name but a few.
At Laceys Mediation it is our experience that solutions can be found even in the most challenging of disputes. Whereas the options for redress through the courts is strictly limited, in mediation our experienced mediators can help you explore a wide variety of possible options, tailoring a settlement to both parties needs and priorities.

“Rob Kelly has been absolutely exceptional in resolving this litigation and so thorough in everything and basically gave the opposition a masterclass of his work that he is so good at.”
“I have had the pleasure of working with several members of the team at Laceys regularly over a period of years. I found Rob Kelly in particular, who worked on a successful litigation case for me over a period of several years to be outstanding in all aspects of the work he undertook, and the manner in which he did it. I now consider him a friend. I would not - and have not - hesitated to recommend Laceys to my family and friends, and continue to use them for all legal matters.”
“ I just wanted to thank you for your great work on the professional negligence case and other cases you have represented Indian Ocean and Tiien through the last few years.”
“A case that was initially very straightforward became difficult and, for me, very frustrating. Rob Kelly's calm, lucid and very professional advice and planning were invaluable and led to a good outcome.”
“Their Fee Management was exemplary and the expertise provided by Rob was exactly what we required.”
“I've worked with a fair few lawyers over the years and Rob Kelly is the most on the ball and efficient lawyers I've ever come across. I'm looking forward to working together for many years to come.”
