Our small but busy accounts department are looking for someone to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on a full-time basis (7 hours/day, 21 hours/week). There may be additional hours in the future.
This is a varied role with a focus on delivering timely and accurate transactional work. It’s a high-volume, deadline-driven area subject to regulatory rules, so you’ll need to be able to work well as part of a team.
You’ll be responsible for:
Previous experience as a Legal Cashier/in a law firm is an advantage but not essential – as is an understanding of the principles of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and money laundering regulations. You’ll have excellent working knowledge of electronic accounting systems and a high degree of IT literacy generally. Experience of, and confidence in, dealing with a high volume of financial transactions, including large transactions, is a must.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the wider Commercial Property team whilst focussing on one-to-one support to a well-regarded senior partner.
We’d like to hear from you if you’re motivated by a busy workload and relish keeping on track of a variety of important deadlines. You’ll be an experienced administrator with a flexible approach, used to providing secretarial support at a senior level in a professional services environment and with a good understanding of the importance of compliance processes and procedures.

The person
Your organisation and communication skills will be second to none. Attention to detail and effective time management is a must.
A high degree of IT literacy, particularly a good familiarity with MS Office and ideally with experience of using electronic case management systems is a requirement. You’ll regularly work with detailed legal documents and so proficiency in version control and use of ‘track changes’ is essential.
Experience in a similar role in a residential or commercial property legal team is a distinct advantage. Basic accounting knowledge as it relates to property processes is also an advantage. You may even have a legal secretarial qualification or business or administrative qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. You’ll be comfortable with dictation.
